Welcome Friends! We are delighted to have visitors; for complete information about worship, membership, children’s programs, our history,  and other things pertaining to Quakers, please look under About at the top of the page.  Our building is accessible for those with mobility issues. There is handicapped parking on the right-hand side of the building, next to the playground fence, and there is an adjacent ramp into the building.

There are two worship sessions on Sunday mornings: 8:30 and 11:00 September through May and 8:30 and 10:15  June through August.   During the later worship we offer youth programs. High Schoolers are welcome to join us for the entire Meeting for Worship. The  younger children (nursery – middle school) join us for the last fifteen minutes and after-worship sharing.

Between the two worship sessions we have time to get to know each other better.  During the academic year we do so with programs for adults, that we call Connections,  which feature spiritual journeys, bible study, music, and other presentations to enrich and challenge us.  During the summer months we socialize over drinks and nibbles.  Please bring your children.  We have a wonderful teen who entertains and supervises the younger ones.

Are you new to Quakers or unsure of what to expect?

We are an unprogrammed meeting.  When we worship, we gather in silence to listen for the Spirit of God to speak through us. Occasionally some may stand and share the fruits of their silent worship through brief vocal ministry or song. The silence is ended with a handshake.  Then we have after-thoughts, introductions, and announcements before we rise.  Please stay for introductions and announcements, so we can get to know each other.  The children are given an opportunity to leave before announcements, if they wish.   There is supervision provided.

Because we do not have clergy or paid staff, the work of our Friends Meeting is done by all of us, both members and attenders, working on various committees. Membership on committees is term-limited, to keep our work fresh and invigorated. We entrust most day-to-day decisions to our committees.  When there is something on which a committee needs input or there is something to share with the entire meeting, it is done at our monthly Business Meetings, special meetings for worship in which we do our Meeting’s business.  Sometimes larger matters come up at Business Meetings which are referred to an appropriate committee to consider and “season” for the good of the whole Meeting.

There is much more information about our beliefs and programs on the menu at the top of the page.
